Fairfax, Virginia Medical Weight Loss Clinic Staff
Shelli Wolfe Mayer, a Medical Nurse Practitioner at BeLite, earned a B.S.N. at Trenton State College in New Jersey. Over the course of her career, she worked in both large teaching hospitals and small rural hospitals from Boston to Charlottesville to Montana. Mayer attended the University of Virginia where she graduated with a M.S.N. and a Post-masterís Nurse Practitioner (NP) degree. After completing her graduate education, Mayer worked at Gallaudet University providing primary care to college students. Other NP positions include The Washington Occupational Health Associates and the Presidential Classroom. Since 2002, she has been teaching at Marymount University in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Prior to Marymount, Mayer was a professor at The George Washington University in their NP program.
Heidi Wilson, MSN, FNP-BC, a Medical Nurse Practitioner at BeLite, joined the BeLite Medical Center team in April 2012. Since her graduation from Vanderbilt University as a nurse practitioner nearly 30 years ago, she has worked in a variety of settings including internal medicine, family practice and University Health. She is delighted to work with the clients at the BeLite Medical Center since she is a client herself. For many years she struggled with weight issues and found the medication offered at the BeLite Medical Center to be highly effective in helping her make good decisions regarding diet and exercise. She lost nearly 40 pounds on the BeLite program and feels great. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you reach your weight loss goals as well.
Sandy Sohns FNP-BC, a Medical Nurse Practitioner at BeLite, joined the BeLite Medical Center team in 2009. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing nursing for over twenty years. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from George Mason University, and a Masters in Nursing degree from Marymount University. She has practiced in a wide variety of settings including research at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; the Virginia Department of Health; ambulatory urgent care; and family practice. She is a member of the Northern Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners. She advocates healthy lifestyle behaviors and encourages patients to be proactive in managing their health.
